Water - 12-14 cups
Beef - 2 1/4 lb. (ready for cooking)
Carrots - 2 pcs. (peeled)
Onion - 1 pc.
Bay leaf - 3-6 pcs.
Black pepper peas to taste
Salt to taste
Put beef in a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Add whole unpeeled onion, carrots and black pepper peas.
Bring the broth to a boil and simmer about 90-110 minutes removing the foam. Shortly before the end of cooking, add bay leaf.
Remove the meat and strain the broth.
Ready in: 110 minutes.
