  1. . Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. . Add fresh ginger and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until very fragrant, stirring constantly.
  3. . Pour in crushed tomatoes and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. . Use an immersion blender to puree until smooth. Stir in honey, orange zest, orange juice, and cayenne if using.
  5. . Season with salt and pepper. Serve garnished with fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil.
